Our democracy is under attack. Most of the norms and checks and balances that were designed into the Constitution to keep us safe from one branch of government having too much power have collapsed. The Republican Congress (and Mike Lawler) have sat by quietly while an unelected billionaire has taken a machete to our Federal workforce and hacked his way in to access our most sensitive data. We've abandoned Ukraine and our NATO allies in Europe to partner with a Russian war criminal and dictator.

With that as a background the Stony Point Democratic Committee has a duty to respond and resist. We'll continue to advocate for local issues that effect the quality of life in Stony Point as we always have, but we're prioritizing actions to resist the the existential threat that is dismantling our institutions and the world order as we know it. We'll be cooperating with other groups in the region to fight back against the many threats that this administration has unleashed upon us.

It will take courage to resist. Courage to speak up. Courage to take action.

It'll feel especially challenging if you've never been involved in taking political action before.

But you know you can do it!
